2021 League Scoring (REVISED)
INDIVIDUAL SCORING
The stableford system is net, not gross. It seems the system was combining stableford AND indy match points during week 1 play. That has since been adjusted and reflects correct stableford points from yesterdays round and will be correct moving forward, the point values remain the same. The individual leaderboard from the app will reflect the standings appropriately each week and will continue to be uploaded to the website.
The Stableford scoring system is as follows:
ALBATROSS = 5 POINTS
EAGLE = 4 POINTS
BIRDIE = 3 POINTS
PAR = 2 POINTS
BOGEY = 1 POINT
DOUBLE BOGEY + = 0 POINTS
TEAM SCORING
We no longer play "A" player from Team A vs "A" player from Team B and so on. We now play Team A vs Team B combined score. I know it's a little different from years past but we are going to try it this season and re-evaluate at the end of the season. It makes each match more of team game while keeping you competitive using the stableford.
We are also changing how we are determining the overall team standings to avoid the 12 point swings for people not showing or getting subs. There have been instances in the past where we would get near the end of the season before tournament time, a team wouldn't show and the other team would automatically receive 12 points and make a big jump in the standings, sometimes into first place. The new scoring system will be manually calculated at the end of each week (and along with the indy standings) be uploaded to the Albatross website. The thought behind this is that it will keep things closer throughout the leaderboard and not have such drastic changes if a team doesn't show or get subs. The team leaderboard from the app will not reflect the correct standings since we are going to be using a different format.
The new team scoring system is as follows:
WIN = 3 POINTS
TIE = 2 POINTS (EACH TEAM)
LOSS = 1 POINT
NO SHOW = 0 POINTS
